BIOGRAPHY

Aki Kimura is a Japanese artist and designer behind ikA.K label. She was based in Berlin from 2008 to 2016 and thereafter relocated to Japan.
Kimura was raised in Ibaraki, Japan, where she enjoyed a comprehensive education in the arts of drawing, oil painting, watercolor painting, 3D-construction and calligraphy at several art schools from an early age. During this period her parents introduced her to a broad variety of foreign art books that have had a significant influence on her later creativity.

Kimura's artworks are characterized by romanticism and nostalgia based on fables with a spirit of modernity. The style is actualized with reverence for the universe - the creation, influence of history and mythology, and capturing remembered things seen in a dream. The dynamic, full of life artworks are mainly digitized collage, that combines lush different forms including hand-drawn and hand-painted elements, and collected images as significant symbols.

木村亜希は日本人のアーティスト、スカーフブランドikA.Kのデザイナー。 ２００８年から２０１６年までベルリンに制作拠点を置き、その後日本に拠点を移す。
茨城で自然に囲まれて育つかたわら、幼少より油絵、水彩画、立体構成、書道などを習う。また両親より贈られた多種多様な洋書をふくむ美術書、絵本はのちの制作に大きな影響を与えた。 アートワークはモダンな感覚を持ちながらも寓話ベースとしたロマンチック、ノスタルジックな雰囲気を持つ。制作スタイルは、いきとしいけるものへの憧憬を歴史や神話、夢で見た風景などを主に題材にして、ハンドペインティング、ドローイング、デジタルアートワーク、写真などで構成されたコラージュに表現する。　

ABOUT ikA.K

ikA.K is a scarf lable founded by Aki Kimura in Berlin in 2010 and thereafter relocated its base to Japan in 2017. The name for the label came from Kimura's name, spelled in reverse, and "unicorn" in Japanese. The first collection successfully made its reputation while participating in an international fashion trade show “Premiere Classe in Paris”, and the collections were stocked globally by the world’s premiere retailers.
All scarves made by ikA.K are of the highest quality material and the production process employs state of the art technology as well as the craftsmanship of artisans in Japan.
Its new collections are now stocked in REAL DESIGN SITE at SHIBUYA SCRAMBLE SQUARE and have been presented at several events of the department stores in Japan.

ikA.Kは２０１０年、ベルリンを拠点としていた木村亜希が設立したスカーフブランド。２０１７年に拠点を日本に移す。ブランド名は木村のイニシャルの逆さ読みとブランドシンボルの一角獣の掛け合わせである。
「単なるモノではなく、心の琴線に触れるもの。短期間で消費されるモノではなく、長きに渡って愛されるもの。」との思いからものづくりを始めた。
ファーストコレクションよりアパレル最高峰の展示会、パリPremiereClasseのオーディションに受かり、バイヤーやVOGUE誌から好評を得て、ヨーロッパ、日本、香港、オーストラリアのデパートやセレクトショップで販売された。
全てのスカーフは、捺染から縫製までの工程を日本の職人の高い技術を駆使して生産されている。
コレクションは、渋谷スクランブルスクエア「レアルデザインサイト」や日本全国の百貨店のイベントで展開している。
